DESCRIPTION:The Advanced Policy Analyst Program is the Government of Canada
 ’s premier professional development program. The two-year program is desig
 ned to develop high potential individuals for public policy roles in the G
 overnment of Canada through four six-month assignments at the Department o
 f Finance\, the Treasury Board Secretariat\, the Privy Council Office\, an
 d one other department. We are looking for 8-12 highly-motivated individua
 ls with a strong interest in Canadian public policy and governance to begi
 n in June 2017. Candidates must have completed coursework in a Master’s de
 gree prior to May 2017 and have done some coursework (at the graduate or u
 ndergraduate level) in economics and statistics.\n\nOur Post-Secondary Rec
 ruitment campaign for 2017 runs from September 21 – October 13\, 2016. The
  event targets graduate students from all disciplines with some background
  in economics (either at the undergraduate or graduate level) that are exp
 ecting to complete their graduate coursework in 2017. Participants enter f
 rom a variety of educational backgrounds\, including law\, economics\, eng
 ineering and business. We are seeking highly-motivated individuals with a 
 strong interest in Canadian public policy and governance.\n\nSPEAKERS\n\nJ
 aimie Boyd graduated from the Advanced Policy Analyst Program in 2014. She
  is currently the Manager of Open Government Implementation at the Treasur
 y Board Secretariat where she works on creating  greater government transp
 arency and accountability\, increasing citizen engagement\, and driving in
 novation and economic opportunities through open data\, open information\,
  and open dialogue. She was previously an economist at the federal departm
 ent of Innovation\, Science and Economic Development where she worked on i
 nternal trade. She graduated from ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ in 2008 with a BA (honours) in po
 litical science and economics. She also holds a MA in political science fr
 om UBC.\n\nEiad El Fateh also graduated from the Advanced Policy Analyst P
 rogram in 2014. He is currently a senior analyst at the Patented Prices Me
 dicines Review Board where he works on ensuring that Canadians have access
  to prescription drug prices at reasonable prices. He was previously an an
 alyst at Indigenous Affairs and Northern Development Canada where he worke
 d on First Nation economic development. He has a MA in economics from Quee
 ns University as well as a law degree and BComm from UBC.\n\n\nRegistratio
