 to have no impact on film policy in the U.S.\, what are critical scholars 
 to do? In this preliminary talk for a new book project\, I use cultural ge
 ography in order to make the impacts of film production and policy visible
  from the ground. Using New Orleans' film economies in the 1910s and the 2
 010s as case studies\, I aim to show that film policy has never been conte
 nt or jobs\, but about the recapitalization of spaces and the transformati
 on of place to serve elite interests.\n
