She also holds the\ndistinction of being the first black dean of a law school\n(University of Windsor's Faculty of Law) in Canada’s history.\nDr. Westmoreland-Traoré was born in Verdun in 1942 of Guyanese\nparents. After receiving her law degree from the Univers ité de\nMontréal and a doctorate from the University of Paris\, she began \npractising law in 1970. From 1983 to 1985\, she was a Commissioner\nfor the Canadian Human Rights Commission. From 1991 to 1995\, she\nwas Employm ent Equity Commissioner of Ontario.
