Over the la st decade\, our group has systematically explored the conversion of protei ns that normally respond to small molecules\, heat\, membrane tension\, or voltage\, into photoreceptors. We usually do this by attaching synthetic photoswitches with modern bioconjugation techniques that work in vivo. Usi ng opioid receptors and dopamine receptors (family A)\, GLP1 receptors (fa mily B)\, and mGluRs (family C) as examples\, I will show how just about a ny receptor be converted into a photoreceptor.\n DTSTART:20171030T170000Z DTEND:20171030T183000Z LOCATION:Rm S1/3\, Stewart Biology Building\, CA\, QC\, Montreal\, H3A 1B1\ , 1205 avenue du Docteur-Penfield SUMMARY:Chemsoc Seminar: Dirk Trauner - How to Convert Receptors into Photo receptors URL:/chemistry/channels/event/chemsoc-seminar-dirk-tra uner-how-convert-receptors-photoreceptors-270557 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
