    Description

    Statistical concepts and methodology, their application to managerial decision-making, real-life data, problem-solving and spreadsheet modeling. Topics include: descriptive statistics; normal distributions, sampling distributions and estimation, hypothesis testing for one and two populations, goodness of fit, analysis of variance, simple and multiple regression.

**Students admitted to the program as of Fall 2024 are required to complete 42 credits. Students admitted prior to Fall 2024 are required to complete 39 credits.

New students considering the Major Program in Economics:

  • replace听MGCR 293听with听ECON 230D1/ECON 230D2.
  • replace听MGCR 294 with听ECON 332 (3 credits) and ECON 333 (3 credits)听(taken in the second year)

For students who take MGCR 293 and/or MGCR 294 (ECON 295)听before declaring a Major in Economics:

  • 9 credits will be permitted within the BCom program for MGCR 293 and ECON 230D1/ECON 230D2
  • 9 credits will be permitted within the BCom program for MGCR 294 (ECON 295) and ECON 332/ECON 333

Minor Concentration in Economics:

Students who declare a Minor Concentration in Economics andwho took MGCR 293 for the Core requirement, may take ECON 230D1/ECON 230D2 toward the minor.
