Dr. Janine Elizabeth Metallic is a Mi鈥檊maw from the Listuguj Mi鈥檊maq First Nation (Listuguj, Quebec). Janine is an Assistant Professor in 黑料不打烊鈥檚 Department of Integrated Studies in Education. Her research interests center around Indigenous educational studies and language revitalization. For several years, Janine worked as a Mi'gmaw language consultant in 黑料不打烊's Department of Linguistics. Janine is currently interested in building Indigenous research capacity by supporting and training Indigenous graduate students and developing research projects related to community-based education and language research.

I am currently accepting applications from prospective graduate students to join my research group. I welcome students who approach research with cultural humility and a deep, long-term commitment to collaborative, community-led work that uplifts diverse voices and knowledges, particularly in the areas of decolonizing and Indigenous education, and Indigenous language revitalization and maintenance.
