DESCRIPTION:The Dept. of Geography is organizing two 20 hour Wilderness Fir
 st Aid course in April.\n\n \n\nThe next 40 hour ADVANCED Wilderness First
  Aid courses will be at a Montreal Sports Club on Nov 2-3\, 9-10. The inst
 ructor will be from www.siriusmed.com.\n\nA minimum of 7 committed partici
 pants is required to run a course.\n\nIf we have fewer than 7 participants
  before the course\, the group will have the option of paying slightly mor
 e per person\, so the course goes ahead.\n\n \n\nTraining and topics. [+ E
 HS doesn't have the full description of SIRIUS 40h course]\n\n\n	CPR and AE
 D cardiac defibrilation.\n	First Aid treatment of injuries - basics and spe
 cifics for remote locations.\n	Assessing and stabilizing injuries in prepar
 ation for emergency evacuation.\n	3 - 4 outdoor simulations near Burnside H
 all.\n\n\n \n\nCertification and first aid books will be provided.\n\n \n
 \nSome research grants cover the cost of Wilderness First Aid training\, s
 o ask your supervisors.\n\n \n\nCost. The cost per participant is unknown
