Construction Starts: New Residence Hall - Emergency Facade Work and Facade Renovation

Please be advised that ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ University has mandated St-Denis Thompson Inc to carry out the following project: 18-103 New Residence Hall - Restoration of Facades – PHASE 2

¶Ù±ð²õ³¦°ù¾±±è³Ù¾±´Ç²Ô:ÌýComplete replacement of block facing on building facades and repair of concrete surfaces.

Construction start date: May 5, 2025

Planned construction end date: End of 2026

Work schedule:

  • PHASE 2A (2025)
    May 5 – August 12, 2025 : Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
    August 13 – December, 2025 : Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • PHASE 2B (2026)
    May 4 – August 12, 2026 : Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
    August 13 – December, 2026 : Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Scope of work: PHASE 2A (2025)

  • Exterior work: Demolition and replacement of the brick facades on the entire height of the building, including the ground floor, starting on the right-hand portion of the Parc Avenue facade and the entire Prince Arthur facade (in blue in the plan below).
  • Exterior work: Scaffolding is to be installed only above the glass veranda at the back of the property, for the entire height of the building, to prepare for the construction planned in 2026 (in yellow in the plan below).
  • Interior work: Restoration of the windows in the dorms of the property, at all levels (2F – 16F), to be completed by August 12, 2025.

Impact & mitigation: PHASE 2A (2025)

  • All existing entrances and exits will be maintained, including emergency exits.
  • The construction site is identified as the area in orange in the mobilization plan below.
  • Both vehicle and pedestrian access to the building via Parc or Prince Arthur avenues will be maintained and are marked in green in the mobilization plan below.
  • The sidewalks along Parc Avenue and Prince Arthur Avenue will be maintained and protected for pedestrian use (in pink below).
  • As of mid-August 2025, once the property is occupied, construction activities will begin at 8:30 a.m.
