On April 29, the ��ϲ�� Department of Family Medicine hosted the annual Dr. Hirsh Rosenfeld Distinguished Public Lecture in Family Medicine, spotlighting a critical yet often overlooked facet of clinical care: the cultural interpretation of pain. Titled “Too much pain, doctor!”: Recognizing and Contextualizing Cultural Expressions of Pain, the event featured Isabelle Leblanc, MD, PhD, Assistant Professor in ��ϲ��’s Department of Family Medicine and physician at St. Mary’s Family Medicine Centre.

On March 26, 2025, ��ϲ�� Palliative Care held the third lecture of their National Grand Round Series at the Jewish General Hospital, a program supported by nine local hospital foundations and their partner, Pallium Canada. This initiative aims to disseminate the latest innovations, research and ideas in palliative care to communities across Canada and beyond, particularly those who may not typically have access to academic speakers.

The Department of Family Medicine opens a new clinic at the Lakeshore General Hospital

On September 18, 2024, the ��ϲ�� Department of Family Medicine, in collaboration with the CIUSSS de l’Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal and the Lakeshore General Hospital Foundation, opened the Lakeshore University Family Medicine Group (U-FMG), a Family Medicine teaching clinic at the Lakeshore General Hospital. This clinic has now become the 12th home base to residents in the ��ϲ�� Family Medicine program which counts over 200 residents. The Department of Family Medicine has an additional 35 training sites in rural Quebec, stretching from Nunavik to Gatineau.
