She was awarded a Future Leade r in Canadian Brain Research grant from Brain Canada in 2024.\n Ron Beleno  is an active advocate for dementia\, caregiving\, aging\, and research com munities. Being a caregiver to his father who lived with Alzheimer’s for 1 0+ years to age in place at home until January 2018\, Ron utilized technol ogy\, community\, and access to research to support his family’s life to l ive well and as best as possible. He is also an expert advisor on caregivi ng with Women's Brain Health Initiative.\n Marie Savundranayagam is an Asso ciate Professor in the School of Health Studies at Western University. Wit hin family caregiving\, her research is focused on enhancing our understan ding of the contributors of stress and depression among family caregivers. Within formal caregiving\, Savundranayagam’s research aims to understand the factors that lead to communication breakdown between formal caregivers and persons with dementia and to use that knowledge to equip formal careg ivers with the necessary skills to be person-centered in their care. She i s a 2023 Alzheimer Society of Canada & Brain Canada KTE Accelerator Grant recipient.\n\n\nModerator:\n\n\n Jane Rylett is the Scientific Director of the CIHR Institute of Aging. She is also a Distinguished University Profes sor at the University of Western Ontario and Scientist in the Translationa l Neuroscience Group at Robarts Research Institute.
