 /聽\n	\n	Meredith Whittaker is the Co-Founder and Co-Director of the AI NOW I
 nstitute of NYU. The AI Now Institute produces interdisciplinary research 
 on the social implications of artificial intelligence and acts as a hub fo
 r the emerging field focused on these issues.\n	\n	Whittaker is a Distinguis
 hed Research Scientist at New York University\, and the founder and lead o
 f Google鈥檚 Open Research group. She has over a decade of experience workin
 g in industry\, leading product and engineering teams. She co-founded M-La
 b\, a globally distributed network measurement system that provides the wo
 rld鈥檚 largest source of open data on internet performance. M-Lab provides 
 one of the primary resources for policymakers and researchers investigatin
 g issues of net neutrality and network performance. She has worked extensi
 vely on issues of privacy and security\, advising on both policy direction
  and technical implementation. She co-founded Simply Secure\, helped build
  and currently advises the Open Technology Fund\, and led work to strength
 en the security of critical internet infrastructure. She has advised the W
 hite House\, the FCC\, the City of New York\, the European Parliament\, an
 d many other governments and civil society organizations on artificial int
 elligence\, internet policy\, measurement\, privacy\, and security.\n	\n	Whi
 ttaker will give a 45 minute presentation\, followed by a Q and A period.
