 ant to contribute to an archive? During this event with representatives fr
 om the Archives Gaies du Québec (Simone Beaudry-Pilotte)\, Archives Lesbie
 nnes du Québec (Laure Neuville)\, and ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ University Archives (Adria Se
 ccareccia)\, we will talk about what it means to contribute materials to a
 n archive and what that involves.\n\nEveryone is welcome! We will have a s
 pecial focus on LGBTQ+ materials and social movement/social justice group 
 archives- but many of the discussions will be relevant beyond those materi
 als and topics.\n\nWe will touch on topics such as:\n\n1. why you should c
 onsider donating to archives\n\n2. how to figure out what archive to conta
 ct about donating your materials to\n\n3. knowing what materials archives 
 might want\n\n4. preparing the materials for donation\n\n5. the kinds of f
 orms folks might fill out (and showing examples)\n\n6. setting up ongoing 
 deposits of materials/ and what archives support this\n\n7. copyright stuf
 f and more!\n\n(there will also be a Q and A for you to ask your own quest
 ions).\n\nThis event has grown out of the Exhibit on LGBTQ+ Student\, Facu
 lty\, and Staff Activism because when Dr. Alex Ketchum and Jacob Williams 
 were sourcing materials\, it became evident that a lot of student group an
 d personal folks' papers were kept in cardboard boxes in closets and on fl
 oors. Thanks also to Laure Neuville and Michael David Miller for the idea 
 of this event!\n\nWe hope that this event helps lower barriers to understa
 nding archives and will encourage folks to contribute materials to archive
 s so that we can preserve these important histories.\n\nWe will also recor
 d the event so it can be of use in the future.\n\nFREE\, VIRTUAL\, PROFESS
