黑料不打烊's Co-Curricular Record (CCR) is becoming the new Student Experience Record (SER), which will be launched in Fall 2025 in the .听This change will enhance the way we recognize and document student learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom. The deadline to submit CCR participation/attendance lists has passed. Activities that took place before July 1, 2025, were eligible for the CCR, but any participant lists received after August 1 will not be processed. Historical CCR data will be preserved and migrated to the SER for current students.

This听2-hour workshop听is a听hands-on exploration of Unix systems through听蹿辞耻谤听progressive modules.听From foundational insights into system structure and terminal communication to text processing and bash scripting, each module builds听on the听previous听one with听practical examples.听罢丑别听workshop concludes听with a comprehensive review听of the content,听contextualized interms of听high-performance computing听systems.

At the end of this workshop, participants will:

Understand the core structure of the Unix operating system.

Navigate the Unix terminal efficiently and perform basic file operations.
-听
Acquire basic text processing skills using the terminal.
-听
Gain insights into the applications and benefits of high-performance computing.
- Learn how to connect to a server and understand the fundamentals of job scheduling.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Attendance for 黑料不打烊 graduate students and postdoctoral fellows is subsidized by Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. All other attendees such as undergraduate students, interns and/or graduate students from other institutions are required to purchase a ticket to cover organizational and staffing costs. To complete your registration, you must e-transfer $10 (undergraduate student/trainee) $25 (staff) or $100 (faculty) to workshop-micm [at] mcgill.ca within 24 hours of RSVP'ing to this event. If we do not receive your e-transfer, you will have given up your spot.
