 ive Law is launching a new civil law workshop series under the theme 'L'ab
 négation en droit civil\,' examining the aspects and effects of selflessne
 ss on civil law.\nAbstract\nThe speaker will trace the evolution from Roma
 n\, Ancien Regime to the Civil Code of Lower Canada under which the law of
  mandate and the office of a testamentary executor was based on bienfaisan
 ce or acting gratuitously to art. 1300 CCQ\, which flips the paradigm on i
 ts head in Quebec. Essentially\, selflessness is now replaced with self-in
