 \nDanny Ramadan is a Syrian-Canadian author and LGBTQ-refugees advocate. H
 is debut novel\, The Clothesline Swing\, won the Independent Publisher Boo
 k Award\, The Canadian Authors Association’s award\, and was shortlisted f
 or a Lambda Award\, and longlisted for Canada Reads. The novel is translat
 ed into French\, German and Hebrew.\n\nHis children’s book\, Salma the Syr
 ian Chef is nominated to the Forest of Reading’s Blue Spruce Award and nam
 ed amongst the Best Books of 2020 by Kirkus Reviews and Library School Jou
 rnal. It won the Middle East Book Award in 2020.\n\nHis forthcoming novel\
 , The Foghorn Echoes\, to be released by Penguin Canada and Canongate UK i
 n 2022.\n\nDanny graduated from UBC with an MFA in Creative Writing and li
 ves in Vancouver with his husband\, Matthew Ramadan.\n\n\nPresented by the
