 73\, so you can see and hear a choirbook as it was meant to be used.\n\nA

 Cumming received her B.A. in Music and Medieval Studies at聽Barnard College
 \,聽Columbia University聽(1980)\, and her M.A. (1982) and Ph.D (1987) in Mus
 ic and Medieval Studies at the聽University of California at Berkeley. She t
 aught for seven years at聽Wellesley College聽before moving to聽黑料不打烊聽in 1992
 . In addition to musicology she has played the recorder professionally\, h
 elped run the summer workshop\, Amherst Early Music\, and conducted the Co
 llegium at聽Wellesley College. She was the review editor for聽Historical Per
 formance\, the journal of Early Music America (1988-92)\, and review edito
 r for the聽Journal of the American Musicological Society聽(2004-2008).聽\n\nP
 rofessor Cumming's major area of expertise is late Medieval and Renaissanc
 e polyphony.聽Her current work looks at fifteenth- and sixteenth-century co
 mpositional process\, with emphasis on the connections between historical 
 improvisation and composition.聽She is the co-leader (with Ichiro Fujinaga\
 , PI) of a SSHRC Partnership Grant\, 鈥淪IMSSA: Single Interface for Music S
 core Searching and Analysis鈥� (2014-2021\;聽https://simssa.ca/).\n
