 .\n\n \n\n\nA project by Caroline Boileau\, Michele Larose – Osler Library
  Artist-in-Residence \n\nDuring her residency\, Caroline Boileau explored 
 different European and Asian medical texts dating from the 15th to the 19t
 h centuries\, focusing particularly on representations of the female body.
  This exhibition project is a dialogue between the long\, slow time of cen
 turies-old documents and the fast\, lively – near-visceral- time of the ar
 tist’s plastic explorations.\n\nMany gestures inhabit this exhibition : vi
 deos collected under the headings read and visit invite exploration on a t
 ouchscreen\; notebooks and sketchbooks\, drawings\, objects and documents 
 share space in the exhibition cases\; Gravidités\, a book collecting image
 s related to obstetrics can be consulted on site\; and De Fabrica sans Vés
 ale\, an artist’s book on which Caroline Boileau will be working every Thu
 rsday for the duration of the exhibition.\n\n---\n\nUn project de Caroline
  Boileau\, artiste en résidence 2018 Michele Larose - Bibliothèque Osler\n
 \nDurant sa résidence\, Caroline Boileau a exploré différents ouvrages méd
 icaux d’Europe et d’Asie datant du 15e au 19e siècles\, s’intéressant part
 iculièrement aux représentations du corps de la femme. Ce project d'exposi
 tion est un dialogue entre le temps lent et long des documents plusieurs f
 ois centenaires et le temps rapide et vif\, presque viscéral\, des explora
 tions plastiques de l’artiste. Plusieurs gestes habitent l’exposition : qu
 elques vidéos rassemblées sous les vocables lire et visiter présentées inv
 itent exploration sur un écran tactile \; des carnets de notes et de croqu
 is\, des dessins\, des objets et documents cohabitant dans les vitrines d’
 exposition \; Gravidités\, un livre rassemblant des images liées à l’obsté
 trique à consulter sur place \; De Fabrica sans Vésale\, un livre d’artist
 e sur lequel Caroline Boileau travaillerai tous les jeudis durant l’exposi
