Shilliam demonstrates how this framework emerged out of his in teractions with the Rastafari movement in post-independent Jamaica. But he also argues that in his evaluation of the movement\, Patterson denuded Ra stafari of all reason. What politics might be emanative of the concept of social death if we situate the early Patterson not only in an imperial aca demy but also in its contested black spaces of post-emancipation independe nce?\n DTSTART:20220218T193000Z DTEND:20220218T210000Z LOCATION:Online though Zoom SUMMARY:RGGJ talk by Robbie Shilliam URL:/lin-centre/channels/event/rggj-talk-robbie-shilli am-336009 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
