VRI technology is capable of applying irrigation wat er and fertilizer spatially across a field to meet the specific needs of c rop and soil on pre-defined management zones. The principal goal of this r esearch project was to identify the potential water and energy savings\, a nd crop productivity benefits of VRI. The study aimed to assess the perfor mance of VRI\, and to investigate field spatial and temporal variability f or delineating irrigation management zones. The research included a four-y ear field experiment during the 2013 to 2016 growing seasons at the Albert a Irrigation Technology Centre (AITC) in southern Alberta\, Canada.\n\nEve ryone in the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ community is welcome to attend a PhD oral defense. Ple ase join us in celebrating the accomplishments of our PhD candidates.\n DTSTART:20170329T171500Z DTEND:20170329T171500Z LOCATION:MS2-022\, Macdonald-Stewart Building\, CA\, QC\, St Anne de Bellev ue\, H9X 3V9\, 21111 Lakeshore Road SUMMARY:PhD Oral Defense: Application of variable-rate irrigation technolog y to conserve water and improve crop productivity URL:/macdonald/channels/event/phd-oral-defense-applica tion-variable-rate-irrigation-technology-conserve-water-and-improve-crop-2 66767 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
