Efforts to reduce anthropogenic Hg emissions\, such as the United Nations Environmental Programme Minamata Convention on Mercury\, are vital to the protection of human and ecosystem health. Mercury exposure assessm ents of bioindicator species\, such as birds\, are critical to monitoring Hg in the environment and understanding how reductions in Hg emissions rel ate to the bioavailability of Hg within ecosystems and food webs\, and ult imately its risk. The overall objective of this work was to increase under standing of ecological\, physiological\, and biochemical factors that infl uence blood and feather Hg concentrations in non-piscivorous bird species to improve Hg exposure assessments.\n\nEveryone in the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ community is welcome to attend a PhD oral defense. Please join us in celebrating the a ccomplishments of our PhD candidates.\n\n \n\n \n DTSTART:20170817T171500Z DTEND:20170817T171500Z LOCATION:MS2-022 (Faculty Lounge)\, Macdonald-Stewart Building\, CA\, QC\, St Anne de Bellevue\, H9X 3V9\, 21111 Lakeshore Road SUMMARY:PhD Oral Defense: Exposure science to investigate factors influenci ng mercury concentrations in non-piscivorous birds URL:/macdonald/channels/event/phd-oral-defense-exposur e-science-investigate-factors-influencing-mercury-concentrations-non-26917 7 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
