 )\n\nDr. Kanayo F. Nwanze is the immediate former President of the Interna
 tional Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) from April 2007 to March 2
 017. He is currently a Special Goodwill Ambassador for Zero Hunger\, Afric
 a Region and serves on the CGIAR System Management Board and the Board of 
 the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA). A Nigerian national\
 , Nwanze has a strong record as an advocate and leader of change and a kee
 n understanding of the complexity of development issues with emphasis on s
 mallholder producers and rural development. He has over 40 years of experi
 ence across three continents in poverty reduction through agriculture\, ru
 ral development and research. Prior to that\, he was Director-General of t
 he Africa Rice Center for a decade. He has received several national honou
 rs in recognition of his service to the rural poor of developing countries
 . Dr. Kanayo F. Nwanze was awarded the inaugural Africa Food Prize in 2016
  for his outstanding leadership and passionate advocacy in putting Africa´
 s smallholder farmers at the center of the global agricultural agenda.\n\n
