 ial to sharing research with policy makers\, media and the general public.
  \n\nMaximum Engagement\n\n​ Learning to communicate requires active parti
 cipation. We will get people talking\, sharing and… communicating. It is a
 n energetic\, lively and participatory workshop.\n\n \n\nMultiple Approach
 es \n\nWe integrate role-playing\, group exercises\, and peer feedback to 
 hone verbal and non-verbal communication skills.\n\nTailored Content\n\nLe
 arning to engage with journalists teaches one to listen\, to make sure the
  message is clear\, and to care about the listener. It all comes down to b
 eing a good storyteller. Written press\, radio\, TV\, blog\, social media\
 , podcast\, and op-eds are all different channels to explain why your work
  matters\, but are also a way to engage with the outside community\, gener
 al public\, influencers\, politicians and your peers.\n\n \n\nSpace is lim
 ited.  Priority will be given to faculty\, postdocs and graduate students 
 who are highly motivated to learn communication skills and ideally\, who a
 re either already involved or plan to be involved soon in outreach related
  to their research or their studies.\n\n***Each workshop participant is re
 quested to bring the following to the workshop:\n\n 2 objects -  One that 
 is related to your research and the other that is unrelated to your work.
