Ware\, an ento mologist and curator at the AMNH in NYC. Her work focuses on dragonflies\, damselflies\, cockroaches\, and termites\, with a few other insects throw n in for good measure. Entomology is a vibrant\, vital\, exciting\, intern ational science\, but the history of the discipline is complicated\, and d eeply rooted in colonialism. \n\nRegister for the event via Zoom\n\nQueer History Month is taking place throughout the entire month of October under the theme 'Coming Together'\, which recognizes that the pandemic has been tough on everyone\, especially for 2SLGBTQIA+ communities where shared sp aces have always been a source of strength\, resilience\, and affirmation. As places start to open-up\, this year's QHM offers a renewed opportunity to come together as we begin to move past all the changes we've lived thr ough as of late. In addition to the keynote\, other events include 'Return of the Rainbow'\, a 'Chat with an Elder' session\, a zine-making workshop \, a trans and nonbinary in academia panel\, and an open mic night with pe rformances by Opéra Queens. QHM is also on Facebook and Instagram.\n DTSTART:20211001T220000Z DTEND:20211001T233000Z SUMMARY:ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Queer History Month Keynote Address: Diversifying Entomology URL:/macdonald/channels/event/mcgill-queer-history-mon th-keynote-address-diversifying-entomology-333568 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
