Congratulations to Xin Zhao, Distinguished James ��ϲ�� Professor in the Department of Animal Science at ��ϲ�� University, on being named Fellow of the American Dairy Science Association (ADSA). The ADSA will present Professor Zhao with this prestigious award on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at their annual meeting in Louisville, Kentucky.

Canadian government invests $1M to improve health of dairy cows

With an investment of nearly $1 million from the Government of Canada, the Association of Veterinary Practitioners of Quebec will be able to develop a digital tool to anticipate and reduce the risks associated with metabolic diseases in dairy cows which are a major health problem, especially in the post-calving period. Prof. Xin Zhao (AnSci) and Maxime Leduc, BSc(AgEnvSc)’12 an Affiliate Member of the Department of Bioresource Engineering, are participating in the project.

Animal Science Professor honoured by American Dairy Science Association

Congratulations to James ��ϲ�� Professor Xin Zhao who received the 2016 West Agro Inc. Award from the American Dairy Science Association (ADSA).

The award is given to one individual each year "to recognize outstanding research of milk quality as affected by control of mastitis, management of milking, and practices in production of milk."

The award was presented at a ceremony during the annual meeting of the ADSA in Salt Lake City, Utah.
