Caring Conversations: The Compassionate Lie

Caring Conversations is an online forum for caregivers of people living with dementia to learn from experts, share concerns and ask questions.

Social worker Lucy Barylak and professional coach and educator Joanne Besner lead conversations about topics that are important聽to caregivers.

The Compassionate Lie

Lucy and Joanne will discuss the challenge of balancing one鈥檚 right to honesty with lying and deception to minimize distress and anxiety when caring for a person who is living with dementia. They will share advice on when, how and what justifies not telling the truth and will invite participants to share their own their tips and lived examples.

The Caring Conversations webinar platform allows people to participate online or by telephone. When you register, you will be provided with a link to join online, and a list of phone numbers if you prefer to call in. You will need to register online to receive the link and call-in numbers.
