Nonlinear dynamics arise when the behaviour of o ne subsystem\, with its own dynamics\, becomes the input for another subsy stem\, imposing certain constraints on its dynamics. Mathematics\, physics \, and the computational sciences have contributed important theoretical d evelopments to the understanding of how nonlinear dynamics explain behavio ur in a wide range of disciplines in natural sciences\, social sciences\, and life sciences\, based on common principles arising from differential e quations. Nonlinear dynamics underlie the developmental trajectory of livi ng organisms\; the spread of information in neural networks and disease in populations\; and the prediction of evolving ecosystems in changing envir onments. While different challenges arise in each research area\, the requ ired quantitative models are shared across areas. These models\, accompani ed by statistical and computational tools\, provide young scientists with a platform to understand the dynamics of their systems and to guide new ex periments.\n \n In this 2-week online summer school\, hosted by the Centre f or Applied Mathematics in Bioscience and Medicine as well as the NSERC-CRE ATE in Complex Dynamics at ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ University (Montreal)\, we aim to provid e a new generation of internationally recruited trainees with the fundamen tal tools of this field as well as to deliver lectures devoted to recent a dvancements made in nonlinear dynamics\, including: machine learning appli cations\; computational neuroscience developments\; cellular physiology im plications\; and infectious disease (COVID-19) and communication transmiss ion.\n\n \n\nRegistration HERE \n DTSTART:20210531T140000Z DTEND:20210606T203000Z SUMMARY:Summer School in Nonlinear Dynamics for the Life Sciences with Appl ications to Neuroscience and Psychology URL:/micm/channels/event/summer-school-nonlinear-dynam ics-life-sciences-applications-neuroscience-and-psychology-329695 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
