The talks will highlight the latest advances and discoveries in neuropsychology\, co gnitive neuroscience\, and neuroimaging.\n\nSpeakers will include scientis ts from across The Neuro\, as well as colleagues and collaborators locally and from around the world. The series is intended to provide a virtual fo rum for scientists and trainees to continue to foster interdisciplinary ex changes on the mechanisms\, diagnosis and treatment of brain and cognitive disorders.\n\n\nTo attend in person\, register here\n\nTo watch via Vimeo \, click here\n\n\nEtienne Abassi\, PhD\n\nPostdoc\, Auditory Cognitive Ne uroscience Laboratory\, The Neuro\, ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ University\n\nHost: justine.cle ry [at] mcgill.ca (Justine Clery)\n\nAbstract: During our lifetime\, we hu mans\, have to manifest complex abilities for navigating our social world\ , and social interactions with our conspecifics occupy a substantial part of our time. Not only interacting in first person\, but also watching or l istening to others’ interactions serves critical functions in understandin g this social world. Indeed\, information about this world comes first thr ough our senses\, and humans rely heavily on vision and audition to commun icate with their conspecifics. In this lecture\, I will present a set of b ehavioral and fMRI studies on healthy humans\, addressing the hypothesis t hat\, given the importance of detecting and recognizing ongoing social int eraction in the environment\, the human brain has developed specialized me chanisms to process visual and auditory scenes that encompass multiple per sons interacting\, analogous to those developed for processing individual persons.\n DTSTART:20240527T170000Z DTEND:20240527T180000Z LOCATION:Jeanne Timmins Amphitheatre\, Montreal Neurological Institute\, CA \, QC\, Montreal\, H3A 2B4\, 3801 rue University SUMMARY:Feindel Brain and Mind Seminar Series: Multi-Modal Perception of So cial Interactions URL:/neuro/channels/event/feindel-brain-and-mind-semin ar-series-multi-modal-perception-social-interactions-357265 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
