Spea kers will include distinguished leaders and rising stars\, with the goal o f bridging basic research and clinical perspectives.\n\n\nTo attend in per son\, register here.\n\nTo watch the livestream\, click here\n\n\nRichard Wennberg\n\nProfessor\, Department of Neurology\, University of Toronto\n \nAbstract: This lecture will cover advanced techniques in the use of magn etoencephalography (MEG) for the presurgical investigation of drug-resista nt epilepsy. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the f undamentals of MEG and its critical role in epilepsy surgery planning. The session will provide a detailed comparison of various inverse source loca lization techniques\, including dipole mapping\, distributed source modeli ng\, and ictal beamforming\, highlighting their clinical applications in n on-invasively modeling interictal spike foci and seizures. Attendees will learn when source modeling of interictal spikes may provide sufficient dat a to proceed directly to epilepsy surgery without additional invasive moni toring. Furthermore\, the lecture will offer insights into the sub-centime ter localization accuracy of electromagnetic source imaging\, supported by validation from intracranial EEG studies. By the end of the lecture\, par ticipants will have a robust understanding of how these cutting-edge techn iques enhance the accuracy and efficacy of presurgical evaluations for epi lepsy\, ultimately improving surgical outcomes.\n\n\nThese seminar series are made possible through the sponsorship of:\n\n\n\n \n DTSTART:20241017T200000Z DTEND:20241017T210000Z LOCATION:de Grandpre Communications Centre\, Montreal Neurological Institut e\, CA\, QC\, Montreal\, H3A 2B4\, 3801 rue University SUMMARY:Neuro Epilepsy Lecture Series - Magnetoencephalography (MEG) and It s Role in Drug Resistant Epilepsy URL:/neuro/channels/event/neuro-epilepsy-lecture-serie s-magnetoencephalography-meg-and-its-role-drug-resistant-epilepsy-357967 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
