 act:  Researchers are increasingly aware of the importance of depression i
 n medical settings. However\, a number of common misconceptions about the 
 role of depression in these settings\, how to assess it\, and the ethics o
 f using depression questionnaires often limit the ability of researchers t
 o effectively integrate depression assessments in research. This presentat
 ion will discuss these issues in the context of existing evidence on depre
 ssion and its assessment.   Brief Bio:  Dr. Brett Thombs is a William Daws
 on Scholar and Associate Professor\, Department of Psychiatry\, 黑料不打烊 Uni
 versity\, Montreal\, Canada. His research focuses on identifying and asses
 sing key problems faced by patients with medical illness\, evaluating ment
 al health and behavioral intervention paradigms that may be used in medica
 l settings\, and to studying how research methods may influence the applic
