The ��ϲ�� Student Ecological Garden operates a 1 1/4 acre farm on the Macdonald Campus to produce local food stuffs from various different crops and farm animals. The MSEG Root Crop Washer is a small-scale root crop (carrots, turnips etc.) washing machine that the organization uses to increase the efficiency and efficacy of the produce cleaning process while decreasing the amount of physical exertion required.

SP0109: Electric Grounds Equipment

This project makes use of resources from the SPF to purchase battery-operated equipment for the ��ϲ�� Grounds Department, replacing the current gas-powered maintenance equipment, such as leaf blowers. Along with a reduction in air and noise pollution, the new equipment will be safer for the employees, who have responded enthusiastically to the change.

SP0102: Reducing Chemical Lab Waste

The 'Reducing Lab Chemical Waste' project takes an interdisciplinary (managerial, chemical and educational) approach to minimize the total output of chemical waste produced by the ��ϲ�� Chemistry Department. Two students in separate labs will monitor the waste output of their work and extrapolate data to develop a model for waste segregation that can be applied to other labs in the future.
