2025-2026 Registration Dates

The start dates & times for returning student registration for Fall 2025–Winter 2026 are:

  • May 28: registration opens for U3/U4 at 8:00a.m. and peak period runs until 1pm;
  • May 29: registration opens for U2 at 8:00a.m. and peak period runs until mid-morning;
  • May 30: registration opens for U1 at 8:00a.m. and peak period runs until mid-morning.

Students can view their personal registration start date & time in Minerva > Student Menu > Registration Menu > Step 1: Check Your Registration Eligibility and Verify Your Curriculum. Registration time tickets are assigned based on credits remaining to degree completion, so students’ exact registration times can change as grades are submitted. Students are encouraged to re-check their registration time the day prior to registration. For more details, please refer to .

Waitlists ( WL)

The waitlist (WL) functionality helps students access in-demand course sections equitably and transparently.

Note: Waitlists for courses offered inÌýFall 2025Ìý²¹²Ô»åÌýWinter 2026Ìýwill open on select course sections on the following dates:

  • Upper-level coursesÌý(2nd year courses and higher): the afternoon of May 30, 2025 or later
SOLVING REGISTRATION ISSUES
Anatomy & Cell Biology (ACB) students trying to register for ANAT courses:

ACB students trying to register for courses in other departments:

  • If you're having difficulty registeringÌýfor a required course, you can contact the department offering the course for assistance (i.e. for BIOL 200, contact the Dept. of Biology; for PHGY 209, contact the Dept. of Physiology, etc.).
  • Refer to the list ofÌýdepartmental contactsÌýso that you're contacting the right person/unit.
  • Please note that in most departments, registration permits are only given forÌý°ù±ð±ç³Ü¾±°ù±ð»åÌýÌýcourses, not for electives or complementary courses.

Non-ACB students trying to registerÌýin ANAT courses:

  • If the course is required for your program, please email theÌýundergradadvisor.acb [at] mcgill.ca (ACB program advisor)Ìýfor assistance
  • If the course is a complementary or electiveÌýand you're receiving a "Reserve Closed" error message, that means that all the spaces for students in other programs are currently full.Ìý You'll need to keep checking Minerva regularly and throughoutÌýthe Add/Drop period to see if space opens up.Ìý

ANAT 396. Undergraduate Research Project.

Description

Independent research project with a final written report.
  • Restrictions: This course cannot be taken under the S/U option. Departmental permission required. Students cannot be supervised by the same instructor for two 396 Science courses. Open to students in programs offered by the Faculty of Science only.
  • Note: Enrolment may be limited. Students are advised to start the application process well before the start of the term and to plan for an alternative course in the case that no suitable project is available. Individual projects may be suggested each term which may have project-specific prerequisites. Students may also approach professors to devise their own projects. Some projects may be accessible to students in other disciplines. ANAT 432. Honours Research Project.

Description

Supervised honours research project in biological sciences.
  • Prerequisite: BIOL 301
  • Restriction: For students in the Honours program.
  • Course opened to all Anatomy & Cell Biology students and other BSc students by special permission only.

  • Required for students in the Anatomy & Cell Biology Honours program; open to other students by permission only.
  • Supervisor must be affiliated with the Department of Anatomy & Cell Biology (found on Faculty, Joint Professors, Adjunct Members or Associate Members lists in the Directory).
  • Once you have found a supervisor and developed a project proposal, complete the ANAT 432 Application form (found below) and email it toÌýthe ANAT 432 Course Coordinator, huy.bui [at] mcgill.ca (Dr. Huy Bui),Ìýto request permission to register (CC your supervisor(s)Ìýand the undergradadvisor.acb [at] mcgill.ca (ACB program advisor) on this email).ÌýÌýRegistration information will be sentÌýafter the project is approved.

  • Honours students planning to complete ANAT 432 during the Fall/Winter semesters of their U3 year are advised to start contacting potential supervisors duringÌýthe Winter semester in their U2 year; students planning to complete ANAT 432 in the Summer semester prior to U3 should do this earlier, at the START ofÌý their U2ÌýWinter semester.
