Banner and related information systems
NOTICE: As of November 29th, 2023, all Banner users who have not changed their Banner password in the last 3 years will be required to change it.
Note: Your Banner UserID and password are separate from your ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ username and password. This password change will not affect the latter. Consult the IT Knowledge Base article on for more information.
To change your Banner password and make sure it is synchronized with the Data Warehouse and the imaging system, Head to Minerva (Personal > Password for Banner/Imaging/Data Warehouse) to change your password as soon as possible.
You will not be impacted by this change if you changed your password at any point within the last 3 years OR if your account was newly created within the same timeframe.
Service accounts are not affected. The passwords for these accounts will not expire after 3 years.

Banner is an Oracleâ„¢ enterprise database used by ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ University to store all student and financial data. While the database itself is called Banner, there are several user interfaces and systems that access this data:
- Banner INB (Internet Native Banner) - is a web-based interface used by administrative staff to perform the tasks for which they are responsible. It is not used by students or instructors.
- Minerva - a web interface used by students, faculty, and administrative staff, for both self-service and administrative tasks.
- Data Warehouse (DWH) - a snapshot of data from Banner that is refreshed nightly.
- ApplicationXtender -Ìýis a desktop and a web application that is used for viewing, scanning and indexing documents and it integrates with Banner.
Ìý To access Banner remotely (off-campus), you must first set up a VPN connection. When using VPN, be mindful to disconnect when done, as the availability of connections is limited.
